In the weekly bulletin from St. Francis and All Saints Catholic Churches in Brainerd, the Rev. Ryan Moravitz wrote that he is looking forward to gradually meeting every parishioner in his new assignment.

Moravitz said that he's grateful for their hospitality and kindness already, which has made his move a joyful experience. He said he wants to learn how he can best serve the congregation. Catholics seek salvation and have a mission to spend eternal life with Jesus in heaven, he wrote.

"We journey this path of grace, truth and mercy together," Moravitz said.

The goal for Catholics is to increase their relationship with God each day, he wrote, no matter where they are in their life journey. Moravitz believes that seeking salvation also includes inviting others to experience their faith.

The root of the Catholic faith surrounds the celebration of the Eucharist, he wrote.

"In Him we experience the one and only saving act of salvation, His death and resurrection," Moravitz said.
