The COVID-19 pandemic has created a world of uncertainty, Father James Devorak of Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown, Minnesota, said in the Aug. 2 bulletin.

Personal health, finances, and relationships have all been affected by the virus, Devorak said. “Where, or in whom, do we find our security? Our faith tells us that God provides the only lasting foundation for our journey of life on this earth.”

When the pandemic is over, "some things will not be recovered so much as they will be transformed,” he continued. “I encourage all of us to be hopeful with a hope born of the Holy Spirit who is leading and guiding us.”

Quoting John 3:8, "'The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.' That spirit is blowing in Immaculate Conception Parish," Devorak concluded.
