John Czech, a member of the Minnesota Knights of Columbus Council 9905, was recently named Knight of the Year.

The camaraderie and fellowship with other men while doing service work and practicing his faith are reasons why Czech loves being a member of the Knights of Columbus.

"The humbling part is thinking 'wow,' you know the friends and the men that I volunteer with and do things with and practice my faith with felt comfortable enough nominating me," Czech said in a YouTube video for the Minnesota Knights of Columbus.

Czech was thankful to be considered and nominated but was very surprised to win the award.

John Hohn, a member of the same council, described Czech as "very active" in everything their council does.

"He's ongoing with his dedication to the council, to the parish," Hohn said in the video.

The recognition is the latest honor Council 9905 has received since it restarted two decades ago after a period of inactivity.
