Parishioners must pay attention to details and do things with great love, the Rev. Timothy Lange said in the St. Agnes & Sacred Heart Catholic Churches in Walker church bulletin.

"Know that you are not alone," Lange said, the church bulletin reported. "Believe that you can persevere. Have great faith."

Lange said that as a child, his father's meticulousness to tasks was something he remembered.

"Whether it be tending to a chore in the yard, repairing something, or painting a room, the tiniest of every detail demanded his attention. He had great patience," he said.

Lange said he benefited greatly from his father's example. He wrote that it is important to have examples to follow and lessons to remember.

Lange wrote that it's important to identify folks who excel at certain things and show others how to do things.

"There are those among us who have gone before us who serve as these models and witnesses," Lange wrote in the church bulletin. "They are ordinary people who in their 'extraordinary ordinariness' capture our attention and allow us to see things more clearly."

Lange said these people are people like witnesses, heralds, martyrs, prophets, teachers and innovators who will bring devotion to God in every task, even the smallest ones. He said that all the saints in heaven and on earth provide inspiration and wisdom.

"They direct us toward true happiness and remind us that we are all called to be saints," Lange said in the bulletin. "All it takes is desire, love and fidelity."

Lange said that this kind of devotedness to faith reminds others to cultivate purpose and meaning and it also gives a voice to those who don't have one. He wrote that "unofficial saints" are those that sit around us in church on Sunday and are ordinary people who help others.

"The inspiration is all around us," Lange said.
