In this life it may be easy to lose site of where the ultimate goal of all of the faithful will always lie in all the goals and objectives that can rise up to call our attention.

Pastor Cory Rohlfing of Divine Mercy Church in Faribault, Minnesota, recently wrote to the congregation regarding the words of Steve McEveety, a famous producer who was behind a number of successful productions, including the movies “Braveheart” and “The Passion of the Christ.”

While giving a lecture years ago in New York City, McEveety was asked by someone in a group of Catholic film students what his goal is in life, Rohlfing said in the church bulletin. After a bit of reflection, McEveety responded, “My goal in life? To get my kids into heaven. And I guess to get there myself, too.”

“This Hollywood producer could have put his faith in his success, friendships, family, or security that he has in life, but he doesn’t,” Rohlfing said. “He puts his faith in the one who has guided him through these events in life.”
