Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud thanked Jennie-O Melrose Turkeys Inc. and the American Legion Post 101 of Melrose for the donation and delivery of 10 turkeys in support of the organization's Senior Dining Meals on Wheels Albany program.
Catholic Charities shared its gratitude to the groups in a recent social media post.

With food prices continuing to rise, the cost of a traditional Thanksgiving meal in 2021 is predicted by WPG Talk Radio to be "the most expensive on record," according to its website. Prices this year are expected to be the highest since 2011, according to the WPG report.
Rising costs are due to many factors, including inflation, labor shortages, supply chain issues, trade policies and even bad weather. Meat prices have risen by more than 10% in the past year, according to the New York Times.
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud states that its Meals on Wheels program provides nutritious daily meals to those in need age 60 and older in more than 44 communities. The program also provides meals for purchase to anyone younger than 60 who needs food assistance because of illness or injury. Those interested in learning more about the program or who wish to enroll are encouraged to contact the CCDSC for assistance.
