Those who are looking to reconnect with their spiritual lives are welcome to do that as the Diocese of Winona-Rochester invites the faithful to participate in a retreat from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 21.
“Do you wish for deeper freedom in your spiritual life?” the diocese asked online. It then provided a solution: “Join us on Saturday, May 21 at St. Ann's Church in Janesville, MN, for You Are Made For Freedom: Unbound Prayer Day.”
Deacon John Hust and Mary Hust will discuss the Five Keys to Spiritual Freedom in the morning session. After lunch, attendees will be able to receive Unbound prayer, the diocese said.
Spanish-language translations and prayer teams will be there.
Neal Lozano developed Unbound Prayer Ministries as a way to facilitate deliverance and healing through prayer. The Unbound model focuses on individuals and their stories, and helping those individuals respond positively to the good news of the Gospel, the Unbound website says.
Unbound prayer is based on the principle that five "keys" can help the faithful "unlock" God's graces, the website says. Those 5 keys are repentance and faith, forgiveness, renunciation, authority, and Father's blessing. Focusing on those 5 keys can help the faithful experience the fullness of the Gospel.
The diocese has offered Unbound prayer sessions before. In October, the Husts led one that was geared toward anyone feeling stuck in their spiritual life, struggling to forgive, or feeling separated from God's love.
The retreat is $10 for people who want lunch provided. There is no cost for those who brown bag it. Register by going online to https://www.dowr.org/event-details/3685.
