Two educators from DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis are being recognized for their positive influence on students and staff, according to a recent Facebook post.
"Every employee at DeLaSalle is an educator, as everyone contributes to the educational mission of caring for and teaching our students," the post read. "This spring, we recognized two educators for their extraordinary achievements. Congratulations to Sedrick McBounds and Alison Post for making a difference in the lives of Islanders."
Post and McBounds earned the 2020 highest annual staff honors, according to the high school's webpage. Post, a social studies teacher, won the Liemandt Excellence in Teaching Award. She was voted as the winner by her colleagues.

“Alison is a model of exemplary behavior and unbiased opinion for her students. who she works closely with demonstrating compassion while setting very high standards," DeLaSalle Principal Jim Benson said. "She is well respected by her students and is constantly looking for new ways to engage their learning."
Post received praise for a project in which she challenged her students to develop their own political party and then run a presidential campaign for that party.
McBounds, a member of the school's maintenance staff, was the recipient of the Distinguished LaSallian Education Award. He was also voted on by his colleagues and other staff members.
McBounds' colleagues said he was a very hard worker.
"This person has a reputation of being so kind and compassionate with the students while providing them structure in school," the school website reported. "He radiates positivity and openness, and the students see him as someone they can rely on for support and guidance. He is a tireless worker who provides a suitable learning environment for students."
The award recognizes a staff member who shares the school's mission of the Catholic church and sees the school as a "place for educational excellence," according to the website.
