The Sacred Heart Parish in Sauk Rapids remembers parishioner Janet Kampa, who died at the age of 94 at Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell.

The parish announced her death and plans for a private burial on its Facebook page.

Born in Benton County to Michael & Olivia (Kustermann, Thole) Maurer, she lived in Sartell and Sauk Rapids for the majority of her life. She married Jerome Kampa in 1947 and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Together with her husband, the couple had three daughters: Jo Ann (Georg) Komzak of St. Albert, Canada, Jennifer (Richard) Rask of Outing and Judi Kampa of Little Elm, Texas, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and one sister.

Janet loved to garden, sew and do crafts. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker.

The burial was at the Sacred Heart parish cemetery and was officiated by the Rev. Thomas Knoblach.

Individuals shared memories of Janet on her tribute wall, remembering spending time at her beautiful home in Sauk Rapids.

Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home handled the funeral arrangements.
