The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis offered several opportunities for healing during Thanksgiving week.

Survivors of abuse were invited to contact the Archdiocese of Saint Paul to register for a special Thanksgiving week gathering. This virtual event took place on Monday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 pm.

"Victims/survivors are invited to this special gathering during Thanksgiving week to explore gratitude – and take it a bit further," Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis wrote in a Nov. 18 Facebook post. "To register, email Paula Kaempffer, Outreach Coordinator for Restorative Justice and Abuse Prevention for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, at kaempfferp@archspm.org or call 651-291-4429."

The archdiocese also offered a retreat for mothers who have lost children through miscarriage or stillbirth. The retreat took place on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in New Brighton – and will include small group sharing, resource sharing, lunch, adoration and prayer and three talks focused on praying through and healing from unborn child loss.

Data from the CDC shows that every year in the United States, around 24,000 babies are stillborn, accounting for about one in every 100 pregnancies.

According to Mayo Clinic, at least 10-20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage.
