A Trinity High School graduating senior who has developed her community and business skills through a Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce leadership program got put in the spotlight by her school.
Morgan Ehlis was part of the “2019-2020 Leadership Dickinson Class,” which is a program of the chamber of commerce that engages high school seniors for eight months, the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce reported. Seniors in the program develop leadership skills, volunteerism and community awareness, according to the chamber of commerce.
Ehlis’ accomplishments were spotlighted on Trinity Catholic Schools’ Facebook page.
The daughter of Eric and Cheri Ehlis, Morgan Ehlis’ school activities included being a leader of Fiat Lux and assistant chaplain plus participating in chapel choir, drama, volleyball, track and student council.
“Being on Student Council for the past 4 years has made my high school experience a blast,” Morgan Ehlis told Trinity Catholic Schools. “I love setting up for Golden Mass and coming together as a school right before Christmas and having a wonderful Mass! I am going to miss that!”
Morgan plans to attend the University of Mary to study communication/media production and Catholic studies, she said in the spotlight.
She also had parting advice to underclassmen in her spotlight.
“Be kind to everyone,” Morgan Ehlis told Trinity Catholic Schools. “You were all once a seventh grader looking for a senior to even just smile at you, and now that’s how they feel. So even if it’s just a smile to a younger class man you will for sure make a difference.”
