The Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minnesota, celebrated Awards Day this year with a virtual event.
The top 10 students came from parishes all around the area, the academy said on its Facebook page. Charlie Erickson of Minneapolis was named Valedictorian.
Also in the top 10 were Nathan Kesti (Salutatorian: Annunciation – Minneapolis), Kathryn Paulus (St. John the Baptist – Savage), Renee France (Valley Middle School – Apple Valley), Molly Elmer (St. John the Baptist – Savage), Jake Steinlage (Our Lady of Grace – Edina), Griffin Olson (All Saints – Lakeville), Finn Olson (Our Lady of Grace – Edina), William Eikens (Carondelet Catholic School – Minneapolis) and Seoyeon Kim (South Korea).
The AHA Star Athletic Award was won by Conor O’Rourke, the academy said on Facebook. The Star Activities Award went to Kate Dysart. Griffin Olson won the Star Service Award.
Teacher and Tennis Coach Steve Werle hosted a meeting of his tennis and service organization, First Serve, earlier this month, the school said on its Facebook page, with a pledge to continue to provide service to the community. Twenty-three STARS joined Coach Werle to help clean up the Richfield Hub Shopping Center after the recent demonstrations. Before the first summer tennis practice, First Serve members helped sort and distribute food to those in need at the Southside Village Boys & Girls Club.
