DeLaSalle students show their gratitude for recent donations made to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. | Facebook
The faculty, staff and students of DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis have raised over $200,000 for their COVID-19 Response Fund.
The fund was created in March to help school families meet the unexpected hardships that the pandemic has created for many. More than 130 families, hit with job losses and business closures, have required tuition assistance.
Over 100 families have needed ongoing food deliveries. Thirty families have received technology assistance so that their sons and daughters could take advantage of online classes.
Still other families have reached out for help as they or their loved ones have struggled with the virus or worked in demanding health care jobs. The DeLaSalle community is immensely grateful that so many generous souls have made contributions during this crisis.
Ninety-five percent of the school's students have committed to return to school in the fall. Many families are still experiencing challenges and stress in the ongoing emergency.
Those who would like to help are encouraged to call the school at 612.676.7600. For more information, please visit the school website.
